Bottle Drives Made Easy at Bottle & Can Redemption Center in South Windsor
Looking for a simple, community-friendly way to raise money for your school, church, Boy Scout troop, sports team, charity, or other nonprofit organization?
Bottle & Can Redemption Center, located at 65 Mascolo Road in South Windsor, Connecticut, works with numerous local organizations to help turn empty bottles and cans into meaningful fundraising dollars.
Bottle drives are one of the easiest ways to raise funds. Supporters donate eligible Connecticut deposit bottles and cans, your organization collects them, and the containers are redeemed for their 10¢ Connecticut refund value.
Instead of asking families and supporters to buy products or make cash donations, a bottle drive allows people to contribute using bottles and cans they already have.
Why Hold a Bottle Drive?
Connecticut's 10¢ deposit adds up quickly.
1,000 eligible containers = $100
5,000 eligible containers = $500
10,000 eligible containers = $1,000
With participation from families, neighbors, businesses and community supporters, a bottle drive can become a significant source of fundraising revenue.
Bottle drives are great for schools, Boy Scouts and youth groups, churches, sports teams, PTO/PTA organizations, charities, clubs and other nonprofit organizations.
Funds raised can help pay for uniforms, equipment, field trips, school activities, youth programs, charitable projects and other organizational needs.
Nonprofits & Fundraising Activities Have an Important Exception
Connecticut recently established limits governing large-volume bottle and can redemptions.
Under current Connecticut law, a redemption center generally cannot accept more than 5,000 beverage containers from one person in a single day.
However, there is an important exception:
Nonprofit organizations and verified fundraising activities are excluded from the 5,000-container daily limit.
This is especially important for bottle drives. A successful school, church, Scout troop or nonprofit fundraiser can easily collect thousands—or tens of thousands—of containers.
Qualified organizations and verified fundraising activities can therefore coordinate larger redemptions with our centers, subject to verification, operational procedures and available capacity.
How a Bottle Drive Works
Getting started is simple.
Choose a collection date or fundraising period and encourage families, members and supporters to save their eligible Connecticut deposit containers. Promote your drive through social media, flyers, newsletters, school communications, church announcements and community groups.
Establish a convenient collection point, gather the containers and bring them to one of our participating bottle and can redemption locations.
For large bottle drives, please contact us in advance. Our team can help coordinate your redemption, explain preparation and sorting requirements, verify the fundraising activity when required, and prepare for the expected volume.

Turn 10¢ Into Something Bigger
A single bottle or can may be worth only 10¢, but a community working together can turn those dimes into hundreds—or thousands—of dollars.
Bottle drives provide organizations with a fundraising opportunity while also encouraging Connecticut deposit containers to be returned through the state's redemption system.
Whether you're a school raising money for student activities, a Boy Scout troop funding its next trip, a church supporting community programs, a sports team purchasing equipment, or a nonprofit raising money for its mission, we're ready to work with you.
